Camping Hi-ho

If life were more like camps.

If life were more like camps I could introduce myself to everyone for the first time. No reputation to cloud me, no history to explain, no expectations, no premature judgment.

If life were more like camps we would have fun at the beach, in the middle of a rainforest, by a trickling river, or in a quaint village because all we have to think about is the “now”. No future to obsess about because as long as camp is in session, time freezes for us.

If life were more like camps we won’t fear strangers or carry pepper sprays because we are in our own little universe where i know you and you know her so she knows him who also knows me, and we are all family.

If life were more like camps we wouldn’t feel lonely because that would be breaking the very first rule about camping: “Nobody will ever be lonely at camp”.

If life were more like camps we would be more spontaneous with our actions, we wouldn’t plan too much, we would tell the people who really matter how much we care, because camps always have deadlines and we don’t want to wait until it is too late.

Bring me to camp, bring me my escape.
